THIS COMPANY DISCRIMINATES AGAINST WOMEN

I have to say that I am totally disgusted at the non-service offered by this company.

My debit and credit cards were due to be delivered by CCD Couriers today. The driver duly arrived, without a pen incidentally, but, after conferring with his office, refused to accept my current South African passport in my married name as valid proof of identity. He also refused to accept an expired passport in my previous name. Therefore, I will go another week without credit or debit cards.

I have been married for nine years and chose not to change my bank accounts from my previous name to my married name of Young. For nine years, I have never had a problem with my bank or any other courier companies who have happily delivered credit cards to my address and have accepted my passport or id document. It has obviously escaped their notice but whatever name I use, my id number as it appears on my bank account stays exactly the same. I could call myself Meghan Markle but my id number will stay the same. .

I actually view your company's attitude as ************** against women. Women can choose which name we use and, if my bank in nine years have never had a problem, I really can't see why a jumped up courier company, hired purely deliver credit cards, should make a judgement call based on what premise I actually cannot fathom, and refuse to deliver what my bank has contracted them to do.

After discussions with CCD, I was old that, to receive my credit cards, I must show my marriage certificate. This is not only discriminatory but what difference this will make I really don't know because MY ID NUMBER, AS IT APPEARS ON BOTH PASSPORTS PROFERRED AND MY BANK ACCOUNT, REGARDLESS OF MY MARRIAGE STATUS, STAYS THE SAME. How difficult is it for them to .

I no longer wish to deal with a company who so clearly discriminates against women so I have now requested that my credit cards be delivered to my nearest branch. They will only be available for collection on 16 May. However, despite the inconvenience of having to stand in inordinately long queues which regrettably is now part of visiting a branch, I will be given my credit cards without fuss on presentation of my South African passport because bank staff realise that, whatever id document I present, THE ID NUMBER AS IT APPEARS ON MY BANK ACCOUNT STAYS THE SAME!

I have contacted my bank and voiced my disgust at their high-handed, discriminatory decision not to deliver my credit cards. They will also be receiving a copy of this letter.
