Don’t bother letting them drop it off. Just collect it yourself, it’ll be a lot quicker.

So I ordered a card from Absa Bank. CCD said they’re delivering today between 8-12. So I called early enough (09:38) to find out where their driver was because I had a work emergency that I had to get to, to which they said he is literally a couple minutes away from me.. So I kept on calling (you have to wait FOREVER before someone decides to pick up the phone) to be able to ask them if I can’t meet the driver somewhere to get my package which they declined. Then I asked if I can’t get the drivers number (I do know of the POPI act, but tried my luck) so that I can call him and arrange if he could quickly deliver my parcel so I could get going. To which they rep**** no. (I needed this card before this weekend just btw) Each time the phone operator says they’re putting my parcel on “High Priority” which means absolutely dog sh*t. So I had to leave at 10:00 to drop something off for a breakdown we were having. I got back at 11:30 and there was no call from the driver yet, so I assumed he didn’t deliver yet. I called them again at 12:40 to ask when is their driver going to deliver. To which they said, he went there already at 11:18 and I didn’t come out so he left. No call, no nothing. Atleast try and make contact with me!! Then I called and told them how urgent this card is, to which they said the same bs story of “we’re putting it on high priority” and that they’ve told the driver to deliver the card once he is done with his current deliveries. I called again at 13:58 to see if he is close by, so they called the driver and he said that he already left and won’t drop it off today. So I must arrange another day. Then the operator said that I could come and collect it over an hour away from me, whilst the driver with my card WAS A FEW MINUTES AWAY!!! So I’ll come and collect my card on Monday. Because if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself!!
