CCD Couriers - Poor Service And Misleading Website
On 30 October 2019 @ 16h50, I received a notification that CCD Couriers collected my parcel in Parow, for delivery to my preferred delivery address in Paarl which is about 43 km apart. When I contacted CCD Couriers on Friday, 1 November 2019 @ 16h00 regarding my delivery, I was informed that it can only be delivered on Tuesday, 5 November 2019, between 10h00 and 12h00. The lady at the reception could not give me a reasonable explanation why it can only be delivered on Tuesday neither put me through to a supervisor or manager to give me a reason for this. She further indicated that they require a copy of my ID, proof of residence and bank statements when they deliver my parcel. This is totally unheard of and I do not feel comfortable to give a copy of my ID or bank statements to a total stranger considering the high level of ***** and *******ion that is prevalent in our country as the copy of my ID can be used to do transactions on my behalf and a lot more that I may not be aware of or have authorized.
CCD Couriers explicitly state on their website that ''PRODUCTS ARE DELIVERED WITHIN 24 HOURS TO ALL METROPOLITANS AND 48 HOURS FROM COLLECTION TO ALL RURAL AREAS". Based on my experience with them, this is definitely not true and misleading. If you try to use the track and trace facility on their website, you get a ''401 UNAUTHORIZED ATTEMPTS EXCEEDED YOU HAVE BEEN BLOCKED'' message immediately after entering the requested last 4 digits of your ID and tracking number. The statement ''PRODUCTS ARE DELIVERED WITHIN 24 HOURS TO ALL METROPOLITANS AND 48 HOURS FROM COLLECTION TO ALL RURAL AREAS" should be removed from their website and future customers and businesses warned that they definitely cannot deliver within the 24-48 hours as indicated and a definite threat to their brand and products.
