Terrible!
I had the fortune opportunity to travel with Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong for business. I started off my trip in Cape Town where check in took 5 attempts and 4 staff members to print my tickets. Once I arrived on the plane I was pleased with the aesthetics and my seat was comfortable enough for economy. Preparing myself for a 13 hour flight I put my earphones in which is so generously provided just to find that they don’t work. An hour after take off we were served lunch which I must say was tasty however the portions were very small. Being provided with a menu promising snacks and noodles throughout my flight I wasn’t too bothered as I’ll get something later if need be. I myself is not a big foodie but when you’re hungry it’s expected to have something to eat. I chose the option to call a flight attendant and saw my light go on not only to go off later with no one to assist me. I tried this several times respecting the fact that staff might be busy. Finally I had a flight attendant walk past me, not asking if she can assist, I did what most people do and tapped her for attention. She turned around and gave me a look saying, in a terribly rude tone, “don’t touch me”. I was extremely humiliated and asked if I may please have a snack. She informed me that she will check but never got back to me. Many passengers around me also asked for something to eat and were either told the same thing or told they’ve run out. I endured it waiting for dinner, dinner which never arrived. I find this shocking that the last time I had so much as a water at lunch sitting at 22:00 with nothing to eat or drink and a poor attitude from the flight attendants. Horrific service!
