On 29 March, I booked a flight from Johannesburg to Bali and payment of approximately R13,000 was taken from my account, but I received no booking confirmation or flight details. I was initially told that the flight had not been booked. However, the day before departure, I was suddenly informed that the booking had been confirmed. By then, due to the lack of confirmation, I had been forced to book an alternative flight with Emirates. Cathay Pacific promised to reimburse me, but months later I am still waiting for my refund. I have followed up countless times by phone, email and live chat. I have repeatedly been told that the refund is being processed and will appear within seven days, yet nothing has been received. Live chat advisors continually transfer or disconnect me without resolving the matter. I am approximately R13,000 out of pocket due to this situation. I am simply requesting the refund that Cathay Pacific has repeatedly confirmed is owed to me.
