12hour overlay!!!

On 01 November My friend (and I were on a flight CX748 from Johannesburg connecting in Hong Kong to Gaunghzhou. The flight arrived late in Hong Kong at 07:35 and We were scheduled to depart at 07h55 on the connecting flight. I found it disheartening that arrangements could not be made between Cathay and Dragonair (considering that Cathay Pacific's subsidiary is Dragonair) to wait for the connecting passengers as is usually the case with other airlines especially if the boarding passes were issued in Jhb as was the case with us. There were easily 8-10 passengers that were inconvenienced as we now had to take the evening flight (12hours later) and we effectively lost a day on our stay as we were in Hong Kong till 20:00 as opposed to 7:55.

Whilst the delay may have not been the airline's fault I'm of the view that between Dragonair and Cathay Pacific an arrangement should have been made to ensure that transfer happens as soon as the aircraft flight touched down. The ground staff knew that there were passengers from Jhb and did not make the necessary arrangements.

I subsequently sent a complaint via e-mail to Cathay Pacific on 15 November 2016 and to date I have neither had a response nor an acknowledgement of receipt from the Cathay Pacific!
