CAT PHONE - WARRANTY

Cat phones are suppose to be drop proof. My daughers cat phone fell out of her pocket. The phone does not even have a scratch on it but the touch screen does not work anymore. The waranty in her box and on internet sais it is a two year warranty. I have been informed that I must pay almost R 2000.00 to fix the phone and that because it is a cell c contract the warranty does not apply. Apparently all Cell C contracts handsets only carry a 1 year warranty and the manufacturer warranty does not apply to them.
