Pratley Putty unuseable and hard as a rock

Bought Pratley Quickset Putty at Cashbuild in Port Shepstone, KZN, 2 days ago and found the putty to be rock solid, unusable and who knows how many years old. At the price they charge for it, you would expect it to be fresh AND Malleable and not fit for the ******* bin or carving a sculpture.
