Extremely poor and disappointing conduct. Not going back there.

I had a nerve-wrecking and deeply infuriating customer experience I had at Cashbuild Welkom (Doorn Sundania). The incident involved an employee by the name of Max Mothe, whose conduct was unprofessional, disruptive, and entirely unacceptable. While I was being assisted by one of your consultants at the express till to identify a product and conclude a purchase, Mr Mothe repeatedly interrupted the transaction. On his first interruption, he approached with a hostile attitude and demanded that the consultant assisting me stop what he was doing and instruct another colleague to remove stock placed in a designated area of the store. His claim was that the consultant helping me had instructed that colleague to place the stock there. Despite being clearly engaged with a customer, the consultant remained professional, attempted to ignore the disruption, and continued focusing on providing good service. He politely suggested that Mr Mothe communicate directly with the colleague involved, as there was no justification for barging into an active sales transaction over such a minor internal matter. Instead of resolving the issue appropriately, Mr Mothe returned shortly thereafter in a more aggressive manner, loudly repeating his demands and causing further disruption. At this point, the situation escalated unnecessarily. As a paying customer, I expressed my frustration and asked whether he could not see that we were busy and allow the transaction to conclude before addressing his issue. His response was shockingly inappropriate. He arrogantly and cheekily told me that he was “not talking to me,” completely disregarding my presence and status as a customer. This level of disrespect, arrogance, and lack of professionalism is unacceptable and should not reflect the values, policies, or brand image of Cashbuild. Such behaviour not only disrupts the customer journey but actively discourages customers from doing business with your company. If left unaddressed, conduct of this nature can easily become normalized, ultimately harming staff morale, customer trust, and the company’s growth and reputation. I trust that this matter will be taken seriously, investigated thoroughly, and dealt with according to company policy. Corrective action is necessary to ensure that customer-facing employees understand the importance of professionalism, respect, and prioritising customers at all times. I would appreciate feedback on how this issue will be addressed. Yours sincerely, Godfrey Ramorara
