Dissapointed customer services
My ****her that is disabled went today early in the morning to get the length and prices of ninja spikes. The staff told him that they dont know the length he must walj to the back in the yard where the spikes are stacked and go and take the measurements himself. My ****her asked to speak to the manager and were told the same. My ****her told them that he has a prosthetic leg which they could all see and that he has very hard difficulty to walk far distances, which he then was just told then sorry they cant help him. This is absolutely dusgusting customer service. And the staff and the manager should feel ashamed of treating potential customers like this especially when they are old and have a dissability. If this is the way they treat thrir customers this business will not last in a small town like Orkney where most of the people that lives here are above 50 years old. You should do better, as from now when someone askes where can they find building and diy items, Cashbuild will be the first words to advise then to NOT go to as they have no respect for ents and that he would need to walk to the yard at the back of the store to measure the spikes himself.
He requested to speak to the manager, but was given the same response. My father explained that he has a prosthetic leg — which was clearly visible — and that he struggles to walk long distances. Despite this, he was simply told that they could not assist him.
This experience reflects extremely poor customer service. It is deeply disappointing that neither the staff nor management were willing to accommodate an elderly customer with a visible disability. Basic assistance in such a situation should not be too much to expect.
In a small town like Orkney, where many residents are older, customer care and respect are especially important. Businesses thrive on community support, and treating customers with empathy and professionalism should be a priority. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this store to others seeking building or DIY materials.
I sincerely hope management takes this matter seriously and improves their level of service and staff training going forward.
