Cashbuild doesnt want to be liable for the damage

<p>My mom bought a 5000lt Jojo Tank at Cashbuild Mogwase July 2013. My mom cannot remember the exact date of purchase as she misplaced a proof of purchase, but she is certain that it was July 2013. The tank started liking first week of Dec 2016. On the tank itself, it has a sticker that says the tank has 8 years warranty.</p> <p> </p> <p>Steps taken:</p> <p>1. I phoned Cashbuild Mogwase and the lady called Rebecca said she wont be able to assist because they dont use Jojo as a supplier anymore and they dont be able to archive the proof of purchase on their system for the month of July 2013.</p> <p>2. I phoned Cashbuild Head office in Johannesburg on ********** and spoke to Michelle Rogers. She then referred me to Cashbuild Rustenburg.</p> <p>2. I spoke to Lizzy Ndlovu from Cashbuild Rustenburg on ********** and she liaise with Jojo company. Eventually she gave me the contact numbers of Jojo Company.</p> <p>3. At Jojo i spoke to Bianca on 083 ********** or ********** . Bianca confirmed that they can fix the tank for us for free since its still under warranty however we need to bring the tank to them which is in Pretoria. [estimated amount is R3000] ]Alternatively they can send the technicians to us , however we will be liable for all the cost meaning transport and the duration of labour, which is estimated about R2500.</p> <p>Jojo also complained that the according to the pictures we send to them, the spaces in between the steels is a bit far away from each other.</p> <p> </p> <p>My concern:</p> <p>Why should we be liable for the costs whereas when my mom bought it, she was not given a manual of how the tank should be placed ect. Lizzy Ndlovu also confirmed that Jojo said they cant to be liable for the costs involved, so there is notheng she can do.</p> <p>Jojo is not disputing that we bought a tank from them, they are disputing the manner in which the tank has been placed.</p> <p>We bought a tank from Cashbuild, not directly from Jojo, now Cashbuild doesnt want to be liable of the damage of the tank. Their excuse is they no longer use Jojo as their supplier.</p> <p> </p>
