Warranty is basically a ****

I've had a horrible experience with a product warranty. The product in question was a Speaker system (Dixon DN3010FT)

I seem to have been taken for a fool, I bought a new Dixon DN3010FT sound system last year on the 20th of October, it blew (not by a fault of mine as I have surge protectors etc and was using it as per it's allowed usage) and I returned it for repairs/replacement on the 20th of December, however, I went to inquire at your Knysna branch on the 25th of January 2022 and was told I have to pay for it (in a very abrasive manner) as if it was my fault? How can a store hold me accountable for inferior products? I have another 6 year old Dixon sound system (CS08) which I've been using endlessly that hasn't blown, clearly the product sold was defective yet still they are expecting me to buy a new one.

I've been in retail for years at massive companies, and I have never witnessed such blatant disregard for consumer rights and warranty, its even stated on the warranty that the product being brand new means that it is under a 12 month warranty and can be refunded or replaced if defective subject to sending it out to their technicians for assessment.

If the fault was mine, I would fully understand, however, using the product as indicated and having it blow is clearly a defection, at my previous company, if a speaker blew, even on the 12th month, it would be assessed, and if found broken, either repaired, replaced or refunded.

I would give this company a single star if it wasn't for a unnamed employee not doing her best to assist me so far.

So I received an email now stating that the warranty is this and that, which is now more upsetting because according to the warranty I'm within my rights for a refund or a replacement for the product.

Warranty Exclusions This limited warranty does not apply if the following occurs:
1. The product has been used contrary to the manufacturer’s instructions 2. Exposure to moisture i.e Liquid damage 3. Unauthorised opening or repair, repair using unauthorised parts 4. Physical damage and/or misuse or abuse, liquid damage, repairs and/or product modifications and alterations that have been executed by unauthorised third parties
5. The defect is a result of an accident 6. The defect is a result of wear and tear 7. The product serial number, the auxi****y date code or the IMEI number has been removed, erased, altered, changed, or is illegible
8. Modifying the exterior by gluing, pasting or sticking ‘decorative’ images on the device can void the warranty if such attachments impact the interior mechanics of the unit.
9. The defect is a result of the product being used or associated with a device that is not appropriate, based on the device’s technical specifications

I've had the Speaker unit plugged into a surge protected socket (which I know isn't faulty) and I have a surge plug in my wall socket. So this product was faulty, a surge would have done absolutely nothing. The product was being used in my computer and nothing else. I have been using it as it is recommended.

This is extremely upsetting as I have spent tens of thousands purchasing from the local cash crusaders, where instead I could purchase products from other places which don't do as much local support such as game, Takealot or even other online stores.

I can't believe the level of response from both Dixon and Cash Crusaders.

Please sort this out.
