Major Concern and Disappointment – Missing Fridge Component at Cash Crusaders MegaMart

Dear Hello Peter Team,

I am writing to formally raise a very serious concern and express my deep disappointment with Cash Crusaders MegaMart.

Early last year, I pawned my fairly new Russell Hobbs 360L Stainless Steel fridge at Cash Crusaders in exchange for a loan. Throughout the entire period, I renewed my loan extensions without fail and comp**** with all requirements. Once I secured my own place, I paid the remaining balance in full and went to collect my fridge.

When I took the fridge home, I cleaned it thoroughly. The following day, we noticed a very disturbing smell coming from it. Upon inspection, we discovered that the fridge drip tray was missing. I want to emphasize that when I initially handed the fridge over to Cash Crusaders, the drip tray was intact and present.

I immediately reported this issue to the store. However, I was simply told that they “cannot find it.” There was no explanation, no apology, no accountability, and no offer of a refund or replacement for the missing component.

The absence of the drip tray is not a minor issue. Without it, water drains directly onto the fridge engine, which can cause serious damage and may lead to the fridge becoming faulty or breaking entirely. This puts me at financial risk for damage that was clearly not caused by me.

This raises a very troubling question: Is it acceptable for customers to leave their belongings at Cash Crusaders only for parts to go missing especially components that are not immediately visible at a glance? The importance of a fridge drip tray is common knowledge, and operating a fridge without one can cause long-term damage.

I am extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism, responsibility, and customer care shown by Cash Crusaders in this matter. I would like to know what recourse I have as a consumer and how this situation can be resolved fairly.

I am requesting assistance from Hello Peter to help address this issue and hold Cash Crusaders accountable.

Regards, Faith.
