Hanging fruit to be exploited

On the 13 of December 2024, after payday. A friend of mine wanted to buy a solar battery backup for his family in Limpopo. the unit was returned on the 18th of December 2024, as it was defective. They apparently took it away for repairs and found the repairs to be very expensive, this was reported when my friend inquired after receiving no call back for a while. At the beginning of the year 2025, he called them to get clarity and way forward, to which the shop consultant referred him to the manager. The manager explained that there was difficulty in finding parts and if the matter is not resolved by the 24th of January 2025 they will refund him his R 3300.00. Needless to explain that my Friend is a general worker and I hope that does not rather him hanging fruit to be exploited.
