Disclosing Customers Personal Information

I have pawn my laptop at cash crusaders centurion mall branch, they asked me to remove all the pin's and password so they can sell the PC if i don't pitch on the agreed date. i went to the shop when the date was approaching to let them know that i wont have money and they call sell the PC. They sold my PC without removing/ formatting. the customer who bought the PC called me to ask if they can format the PC and there isn't anything i need on the PC? all my information is on the PC confirmed the customer. Now i need to know what policies do you have as a company regarding the customers personal information? what if my PERSONAL INFORMATION fell into the wrong hands and be misused? Please assist to resolve this one.
