confused at their prices

<p>So here is the story, I am in Postmansburg for about 4 months. I need a bar fridge and wanted to sell my phone and the buy a bar fridge with that money, if possible I would have liked to buy a cheaper phone as well.</p> <p> </p> <p><br />I phoned the Upington branch and was shocked</p> <p>They had a fridge, the bar fridge price is R2000.00 (we will get back to the price)</p> <p>I asked the guy if he can give me R5000 for my Samsung S6 edge, He first said no he cannot make a price over the phone. I told him I am far away he must give me some indication. He responded that even 4000 were way too high, I asked for 3000 he said “not even”, I asked for 2500 he said “not even”. I asked will we be able to get to 2000 he said yes. I was very disappointed I paid R11 000 for this phone.</p> <p> </p> <p><br />Well I am desperate and phoned back to hear what cheep phones they have (i still needs a phone), I was immediately put off by the fact that I do not get a guarantee; they will however test the phone in store. They call it a in store guarantee</p> <p> </p> <p><br />Then I heard that Kuruman also have a branch (which is closer), I spoke to a guy and he also said he have a bar fridge for R2000.00, asked them how much they will pay for my phone he said R2500.00 to R3000 because it is a very difficult item to sell, and something about contracts at about R400, very expensive to sell with a second hand garantee. I do not understand how come it is difficult because it is one of the best phones on the market, he responded that most people do not have that kind of money to spend on a phone and would rather buy it on contract. I told him it is too low he then offers me a loan on the phone for R2500 with some kind of fee that must be deducted from the amount… how does that help me??</p> <p> </p> <p><br />He also have a second-hand phone that is cheap, his guarantee was a 6 month repair guarantee BUT not on the battery, charger, charging unit or software. I raised my concern over the battery and how I would know if the battery is ok, he said he will test it in store with me. There is no way we can test a battery life in a few minutes, there is also no way to test every function on the software as well. How many customers have they cheated like this?</p> <p> </p> <p><br />I asked him about the no guarantee at the other store, he just responded that he knows about it but he cannot say why, all he can say is that it is franchises and each owner runs it their way. I asked him if he is the owner of that brunch and he said “no it is the people in Upington store as well” how does that work; he could not tell me and was clearly off guard and would not like to respond</p> <p> </p> <p><br />I then decided to try Kimberley (seams the more I phone the price goes up), at first they did not have a bar fridge, but when I spoke to the other guy that does the buying he said they have one for R1800.</p> <p>He gave me the same offer as Kuruman with almost the same explanation!? Well trained well rehe****d story. Their guarantee is also more simple… 6 month repair guarantee on second hand items except if it is customer abuse. I asked the sales guy about the other two stores guarantee and they said its wrong but they will help me with a guarantee</p> <p> </p> <p><br />Disappointed in the offers I received I try to sell it on social media and 4 hours later I sold it in Kathu for R4500.00. not bad for a phone that does not sell good?! I bought myself a KIC fridge 170lt there at Game for R2700 with a 24months guarantee and had money to buy a Samsung J1 for R1600 with change.
