Come on guys! Not cool at all. Very disappointed.

Okay, short version:

I pawned a lot of my stuff with Cash Crusaders Sunward Park due to being unemployed. Always paid and got my stuff back. This is where the problem comes in.

I pawned my laptop for R1200 at the end of January 2016. I have paid the "extension" 3 or 4 times since. That's roughly R1400. In my error(not your fault) I forgot to renew it at the end of May 2016. The contract expired on the 31st of May 2016, I called on the 2nd of June 2016 to, once again, secure my laptop. Only to be told that it was released and sold the next day. Again, "in writing" it's not your fault but several staff members know me by name when I walk into the store. At least two of them (Neo(buying dept) and a lady at checkout(I forget her name but she will recognise me)) were verbally informed by me that I would be collecting my laptop at the end of the month. This was whilst collecting and paying for my Garmin and external HDD which I had also pawned with you guys.

So, technically, it's not your fault but I still feel hard-done-by. I'm not made of money, I paid more than the initial loan amount on "extensions". I understand that the goods were "released" but, really, how much would it have cost you guys to look at the contract and pick up the phone and let me, a loyal customer, know that you were about to sell my laptop?

In short it has cost me R200 to sell my laptop to you guys. I'm not happy at all especially since the staff know me. Honestly, would anyone pay for an extension 4 times and still let their goods be sold? I think not.

I'm not expecting a hell of lot of compensation here but let's be fair and reasonable. Again, in terms of the contract, you guys haven't done anything "wrong". The issue is that I feel that I have developed a business relationship with the store as well as your staff.

I am very upset that you guys sold my laptop without even the common courtesy of picking up the phone. I am very, very disappointed with this outcome. I don't blame your system, I blame your staff. Perhaps it isn't in your company policy to check these things but robotically emptying the store room and filling the shelves has done me great amounts of harm. I have lost 3 years' worth of critical data, which I need not mention, is far more valuable than the machine itself. Bitterly, bitterly disgruntled.
