Cash Crusaders buy ****** Goods

<p>A laptop of mine was **********ly pawned at Cash Crusaders, Lakeside Mall, Benoni. It turns out that the person I suspected was already banned from the store. I discovered that the documentation was in fact completed by his brother. </p> <p>In the end:</p> <p>1. I was refused access to the documentation associated with the transaction which could have supported my case when laying charges. (I am not in possession of the brother's details).</p> <p>2. I was led to believe that it may take months to get my laptop back should I decide to lay charges. This is complicated by the fact that my burden of proof is challenging due to the fact that the person who took the laptop is not the same who actually pawned it! I proceeded to pay an excessive amount to get my laptop back.</p> <p>In, what I consider just a roundabout way to wash their hands when dealing in ****** goods, Cash Crusaders display a notice that warns about dealing in ****** goods. It is misleading - it surely is not going to stop any ***** in his tracks! It has not protected me as the lawful owner of the goods in any way.</p> <p>I have taken this up with the Gauteng Complaints and Head Office Marketing more than a month ago. I would have been better off by not wasting my time since I have not have had anyone getting back to me.</p> <p>I regard Cash Crusader's business practice as questionable. They obviously know that a percentage of their second hand purchases is ****** goods. Is it not time they start taking their business more seriously by considering ways to protect the innocent? But then, why? By protecting the *******, they are ensured of a constant inflow of goods at ridiculously low prices. Surely a great business model – as long as you’re not on the receiving end!</p> <p>If you found this while researching Cash Crusaders, be forewarned; you’ll be better off taking your business elsewhere.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
