A Complete Waste of Time at Cash Crusaders Randburg

I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience at Cash Crusaders Randburg.

After contacting them via WhatsApp, I was given a price range of R2500–R3500 for my phone. I understood that this was an estimate and that a final offer would be made in-store — but I did not expect to be blatantly misled and have my time completely wasted.

Upon arrival, the buyer didn’t even bother to look at the phone before offering me a laughable R500, a far cry from the quote I was given. After some back and forth, he offered R1800, which I agreed to. However, after I waited patiently for over an hour while he assisted other clients and asked a colleague to process my details, he came back claiming he had to “recalculate” and refused to give me a new price.

His colleague could clearly see what was going on and suggested he speak to the manager so as not to lose a customer — a commendable gesture that was the only professional part of my experience. Unfortunately, the buyer went to the back and returned still avoiding giving me a final price until I insisted. He then suddenly changed the offer to R1000, without ever having opened the box to assess the phone.

How do you go from R1800 to R1000 without even evaluating the device? This wasn’t negotiation — it was unprofessional, disorganized, and frankly dishonest.

Cash Crusaders Randburg, if you value your customers, train your staff to honour their word, respect people’s time, and treat walk-in clients with the same courtesy you give over WhatsApp. Based on this experience, I’ll never return and strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with this branch.
