Very very bad service received and unnecessary repairs done to my vehicle
that still leaves my vehicle stranded and broken.
I took my vehicle to Car Care clinic Northriding on the 19th of November with a oil leak. the lady behind the counter Jessica told me that they will be booking my vehicle for a 360 check so that they could find the problem.
I sat at the Northriding branch for over 3 hours when finally the manager informed me that the only problem that they could find was that my sump was leaking and that they will need to re-seal the sump on my vehicle. I was quoted R1500 when i then asked if this was the only problem found on my vehicle and i was assured that this will stop the leaking vehicle.I then asked them to proceed and to please include a engine wash as there was oil all over the bottom of my vehicle, they advised me that this would then cost another R250.00.I agreed to this and they proceeded with repairs.
After 2 hours of waiting for them to complete repairs to my vehicle i was then informed that the bolts holding the sump in place was stripped, this would now cost me a further R950.
I agreed for this to be done and had left my vehicle overnight as they advised me that re-threading was only possible the next day and that i could have my vehicle back the very next day. I then advised Car care clinic staff that i will only be able to collect the vehicle on the 21st as i was working till late at night. I was assured that the vehicle will be ready by then.
On the afternoon of the 20th i phoned Care care clinic just before their closing time when jessica assured me that the vehicle was completed and repaired and ready for collection the next morning.
On arrival to the branch only to find my vehicle still not repaired, i again waited another 2 hours for work to be completed on my vehicle.
I was then called from outside car care clinic to be notified that not all bolts that i paid to be re-threaded was actually re-threaded and that i now have to wait another day to have my vehicle repaired.
My question would be, why was i told that my vehicle was repaired and ready when it was not?
Why did nobody bother to check that all bolts that were suppose to be re-threaded by a 3rd party was actually being done?
I then was finally able to collect my vehicle on friday the 23rd of November where i was told that they could not wash the remaining oil on the bottom of my vehicle as the sump seal would be compromised(which i paid for). i should return the vehicle the following week to have the engine cleaned.
I drove from Car care clinic to my home in Bassonia only to find the vehicle still leaking oil.
I immediately called Jessica at car care clinic to inform her that the vehicle was still leaking oil.
She advised me to monitor the vehicle as this could be excess oil leaking off from splatter due to previous leaking sump.
I had monitored the vehicle over the weekend, only to find that it is now leaking more oil than it previously did.
I returned the vehicle to car care clinic on tuesday the 27th when they told me that they will have a look at what was going on. I left the vehicle at care care clinic northriding to be investigated.
I was then phoned by Jessica to inform me that the oil is in fact leaking from the Seal Housing Unit, Crank seal, Cam seal.
I was frustrated at the news as this was the problem all along, now ive paid an amount of R2500 for a sump re-seal that was not necessary and also not the problem.
I had collected my car from car care clinic northriding as i feel that this was now a money making scheme, why was my vehicle not inspected properly on the 360 check? When then i was told by the manager and staff that a 360 check was done, this was agreed to when i first booked my vehicle in.
I have also paid for a engine wash that was also never done.
This is unacceptable. I want all funds paid refunded back to me for unnecessary repairs.
