My mechanic passed away and i was due for a service. My husband had just been deployed. I took a pamphlet handed to me on malibongwe. I was desperate and the pamphlet said full major service R995 i got home and tried calling on the 12.01.24 no answer. I messaged the whats up number provided, asking for full service and breaks for the following day. No response. I drove to Car care clinic in North Riding. As i entered,pamphlet in hand , i was not greeted, a young lady at counter said abruptly said Those dont apply , its old , stupid Head office.. i said they should rectify as they hand out daily. i left my car and was then sent on whats up , a picture of what needs to be done and the full service. I was charged R2169.56 for full service, Rebond rear shoes R550 , skim drums R700 E\F R170 and labour R2600. The lady requested payment, in order to release my car. I was unhappy but i paid and re iterated stamping my book.They complained as it did not reflect instant. it felt like i was a inconvenience. When i drove i thought it felt weak, and could hear slight grinding. They were insistant that my rear shocks are bleeding causing the problems ,ive been saving as my Total Quote was R 16733.14 I trusted them and was going to do shocks, when suddenly my car became so weak and battled to drive and in emergency 12.04.24 i took it to another mechanic. He called and asked when i serviced and did breaks. I told him and he sent me photos i can supply.. showing a filthy air filter saying it evidently was not done, my spark plugs were broken and rusted. When looking at my service book they did not stamp my book. After having full inspection i had to do a full major service as it was not done , as well as aditional problems caused by overdue service.. like alternator belt . This cost me additional R3570 and was told my shocks not bad. They were pushing me to do the shocks etc for R 16000. I was taken advantage of, pressured into paying for service i did not receive and added stress to save for problems that are not problems. i received no paperwork other than a picture of a written quote. I question if this is the normal ethic and ********* from pamphlet to qualifications, money and clearly not ok to stamp my book. this is a huge discrepancy in my log book and bank account. I would like this rectified.
