Poor quality workmanship

The staff at Lynnwood Road branch attended to a leak in the cooling system of my BMW. The water bottle and two radiator hoses were replaced. A circlip at one end of the top hose connection was not properly fastened but left in the 'unlocked' state. During the first trip after the repairs had been completed, the build-up of pressure inside the cooling system resulted in the hose being forced of the connector which resulted in a complete loss of coolant. Roadside assistance had to be called in to fix the problem at a cost of R550 and a loss of 3 hours' travelling time.

The person(s) who had worked on this vehicle were negligent by not ensuring that all circlips were properly fatened.

I will stay well clear of Care Care Clinic in future.

The manager of Car Care Clinic contacted me with an apology and an offer to put matters right. I took the car back to the Lynnwood branch and received a refund of the R550 paid for roadside assistance. It was discovered that there were 2 remaining leaks in the cooling system - a small leak in the radiator and a broken plastic connector. The problem parts were replaced. The car seems fine now. The person who had initially worked on the car received a written warning.
Thank you for responding to my complaint and subsequent good service.
