Pathetic. Useless. Waste of time and money.

Useless - took my car back three times and was told the problem will go away...it didn't. On 1 July, I took my car to the Bloemfontein Car Care Clinic. It's a Chev and gave a warning code 89. After looking it up on the internet, I took the car in and told them they say it is the thermostat. They told me it needs a service because the car with the spanner light kept coming on with the code. Full service, cleaning etc came up to over R 5000.00 They problem came back. I took it back, they told me 2 lightbulbs blew, they replaced it and reset it. The problem came back. I took it back yet again, was told the alarm kept coming back because I serviced it on the incorrect date - at one stage the manager told me you have to service your car on the right kilo's, not every year - and that the problem will go away in a few days because it is a service alarm. I told him he didn't know what he was talking about - since every time I was there, he asked the head mechanic, who kept assuring him that everything was tested and was fine, and the problem will go away by itself. I told the manager, since it is a franchise, they phone another branch and get a second opinion. He didn't phone back. I sent two letters of complaint via email - there was no response. I finally took the car to another place. The thermostat was beyond repair. It was replaced and the problem went away. At the end of the day I'm out R 10 000 to replace a thermostat I took it in for in the first place. They are ************ - ***** and cheats - rather play lotto with your money, you have a bigger chance of getting something back.

Reviewer Update
Update:
After leaving my review on this site, i was contacted by James Temple about the complaint. This is by far the most professional person I have dealt with. I explained everything to him again and he gave me his number, asking me to get back to him if he doesn't get back to me in time. When he did, he said the manager would like to see the receipt of the work i had done on the car - a fair request - so I sent him a photo of the invoice.
When James got back to me, he said that the manager had the following to say:
Since I already had the car fixed, they couldn't really do anything about it, but they were willing to give me a discount on the next service I do, and refund R 1000.
Then the manager of the Bloemfontein branch phoned me and asked me to come and see him when I get a chance.
I went today. When I got there, the Bloemfontein manager said he wanted to see the replaced part before they refunded me. I phoned James immediately and told him the guy is wasting my time, after which he phoned the Bloem manager and the money was refunded without further hassle.
So, if the managers read this update, I have the following to say:
The main manager - I gave your company three chances to fix my car, you couldn't and wouldn't, so yes, I had to have my car fixed somewhere where competent people worked. Offering me a discount on the next time I used you is an insult to my intelligence - your company proved itself incapable of providing a service, so why in the world would I ever come back?
Giving me back about 20% of the money I had to spend at another place because you couldn't do the job is almost laughable. If you did your job, I wouldn't have had to spend ANY money at another company, so if you truly cared about the pathetic service you gave, you would have given me a FULL refund. And what about the my time and money you wasted? I am not even going to complain about the inconvenience - but I had to give up my time, where I could have earned instead of spent money, the petrol for going back and forth, as well as the arrangements for others to fetch and take me back, all cost money. If your idea of doing business is draining the client of money, job well done - I hope many people will see this and see you for what you truly are.
To the Bloem manager - I gave you three chances, without being a difficult client. Your answer of 'the problem will go away by itself' is not satisfactory to any client. The fact that you refused to contact any other branches, as I suggested after the third time you couldn't fix the problem, and the fact that you wouldn't get back to me after that, as I requested, shows a nearly boundless incompetence on your side. The fact that you, when I came to collect my money, demanded to see that the part has actually been replaced - after the invoice has been provided - shows you are arrogant to the point of being incapable of admitting your mistakes. I honestly do not know whether your incompetence or arrogance is the worst thing about you, but I will tell absolutely anybody and everybody to avoid using your company because of you and the lack of service you provide.
Finally - if it wasn't for James and the effort he'd put into this, I would not have thought anybody in your company is capable of providing a decent service.
