On February 6th, 2025, I took my car to Ormonde Car Care Clinic for repairs. They diagnosed it late the previous year. My issue was that the radiator fan wasn't kicking in. Their diagnosis was that the temperature switch, water pump and water bottle needed replacing. On further inspection they added the engine mountings to the list of things to be replaced. All this together with new windscreen wiper blades came up to R8000, excluding the water bottle and cap.

I collected the car on Friday 7th afternoon and brought it back the next Monday as one indicator signal no longer functioned and a front wheel mud cover fell off whilst driving! I collected the car once again only to drive about 13 kilometres and discover no coolant in the water bottle and, I suspect, very little coolant left in the system, because I could hear water flowing deeper into pipes on pouring ordinary water before taking it back to the Car Care workshop again. By the way, the fan was still not working. They later phoned to say they double-checked everything, a cable connection for the fan had been loose, the fan is now working fine, I could collect the car.

After collecting the car, once again, I drove about 14 kilometers parked the car, let the engine run and checked the fan. Guess what, the fan was still not working, and the water was boiling! I went back to them, Thursday 13th February, that's when they said they don't have an inhouse auto-electrician, I mustn't leave the car they'll call me when they call the auto-electrician they work with. I then called out one auto-electrician I know, he discovered the fan module was the issue!

I then sent a WhatsApp to the Car Care Clinic, Ormonde, that I'll add my review on the experience I had with them, to which they asked me to bring the car in as their auto-electrician was nearby. I value my car, even after paying them so much without a resolution, I refused to have them handle my car as, even as I drive her now, the car no longer drives as smooth as before I gave it to them.

Be warned, take your car elsewhere.

Regards

Hi James,
I think you'd appreciate that the car has been to your workshop for the 4th time on the 13th of February, last week, for the same thing.
If you say it needs to be taken for assessment, I hope you realize that you mean a 5th assessment. Since I paid for what I was told by your shop to be the necessary work and components, and I took it back 4 times in line with your warrantee stipulations, I deserve a better tone of response than the tone you are using.

If you want to assess it, again, please, arrange an authorized auto-electrician to look at my car. No mechanic.

Hi Nico, Ormonde Car Care Clinic owner. Thanks for taking personal ownership of the problem I faced at your workshop. As a token of appreciation for your efforts, I'll add a separate review.
