Formal Complaint – Dangerous Driving and Reckless Conduct by Car Care Clinic Vehicle

Please note: I am not someone who usually complains or writes negative reviews — but this situation involved the safety of my children and others, and I cannot stay silent.

This morning 2025/07/28 while taking my 3- and 5-year-old daughters and their grandmother to crèche, I had an alarming and unacceptable encounter with one of your branded Car Care Clinic bakkies. The driver, who was clearly dropping off workers to hand out pamphlets, came to a sudden standstill on the Rachel de Beer off-ramp, turning left towards Grafenheim Street near Nina Park Spar. This is not a stop street — we had the right of way — and your driver’s abrupt stop nearly caused a collision with my vehicle, with my children inside.

Even more concerning was how passengers were being transported. The driver sat alone in the front, while both men and women were made to sit unsecured in the open back of the bakkie, regardless of their safety or dignity. Why should one person ride in comfort while others — including women — are left exposed and vulnerable?

To make matters worse, the driver then proceeded to make an ******* right turn towards Rachel de Beer street, once again endangering his passengers, himself, and their family.

After the incident, I phoned Car Care Clinic directly to report the matter. Moments later, the driver called me back and claimed that the bakkie’s gears weren’t working — yet somehow, the vehicle conveniently came to a stop right where he needed to drop off his team. That explanation is not only unconvincing — it’s irresponsible.

As a company operating clearly branded vehicles in public, this kind of conduct reflects extremely poorly on your business. It shows a blatant disregard for road safety, the well-being of the public, and even your own staff.

You should be ashamed. I sincerely hope immediate action is taken before someone is seriously injured — or worse.
