Dishonest and ********* business practises - AVOID!

Had my Ford ranger in for a leaking slave cyllinder on the clutch at Car Care Clinic in Vanderbijlpark and received a quote on the same day for REPLACEMENT of the following at R21 500: Slave cyllinder Clutch and pressure plate Dual mass flywheel After a week of no feed back I decide to go to the workshop. The Manager, Graham, was not in so I asked the mechanic doing the work what the status is. His feed back is as follows: Clutch will be reconditioned Flywheel is not dual mass but a fixed flywheel which will only be skimmed The slave cyllinder that was put in is an aftermarket cheepy. After another week I follow up again and get the news that the vehicle is repaired. Given the reconditioning, which I did not give permission for, and the absence of a dual mass flywheel that needs to be replace I expected a lower price. I voice states the original R21500 and I was charge for a Dual mass flywheel and clutch replacement. I questioned the price and Graham promptly was "kind enough" to give me some discount to R18041. After refusing once again the price was reduce to R16300 and then R14400. It took me another 4 days and a phone call to the Manager to get the prices to R12000 which is still too high for the work done. AVOID THEM AT ALL COST. THEY APPLY ********* AND DISHONEST BUSINESS PRACTISES AND IF YOU KNOW LITTLE ABOUT CARS THE WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE AND RIP YOU OFF!!!
