Disappointed
I initially brought my vehicle to Car Care Clinic Boksburg branch in November 2025 to have the engine overhauled and to resolve an overheating problem. I was provided with a quotation detailing the parts and repairs required, and I paid the requested deposit and repair costs accordingly.
Upon reviewing the work that was carried out, I later discovered that certain components quoted and paid for, including a new coolant reservoir (water bottle) and cap, were not replaced. Despite being assured that the vehicle had been repaired and was operating correctly, the vehicle soon developed a strange noise. I returned it to their workshop and was informed that the issue was an open manifold. After this was supposedly repaired, I collected the vehicle once again.
Shortly thereafter, while having tyres fitted at T****** Alberton, the vehicle overheated and statred leaking water under the engine bay. I immediately contacted Car Care Clinic Boksburg and was instructed to take the vehicle to Car Care Clinic Alberton. Following numerous follow-ups, I was eventually informed that the problem had been fixed and that the vehicle was in good condition.
Relying on these assurances, I drove the vehicle to Limpopo. Upon arrival, I discovered that all the coolant had disappeared, despite there being no visible leaks, and the engine warning light had illuminated. I contacted their workshop and was instructed to check for leaks. After finding none, I was advised that it would be safe to drive the vehicle back to Gauteng. I followed this advice and drove back with the engine warning light still on.
I returned to Gauteng on 15 February 2026 and took the vehicle back to Car Care Clinic Boksburg on 18 February 2026. After approximately one month, I visited the workshop to check on the progress of the repairs and found the vehicle standing with the bonnet open and no one actively working on it. During this visit, the receptionist, assured me that the vehicle would be repaired and ready after the Good Friday period.
Trusting this assurance, I waited. However, I received no communication whatsoever regarding the status of my vehicle. On 3 June 2026, after hearing nothing from the company, I contacted the workshop and spoke to a person who identified himself as the new manager. What is most disappointing is not only the prolonged delay but the complete lack of communication throughout this process. At no point was I proactively contacted and updated about the status of my vehicle. Instead, I have consistently had to incur my own costs travelling to the workshop and making repeated telephone calls to obtain information.
My Renault Triber is used as an Uber vehicle and is a source of income for me and my family. Since November 2025, I have suffered substantial financial losses due to my inability to operate the vehicle. In addition to the repair costs already paid, I have incurred ongoing expenses associated with following up on this matter while receiving little to no assistance from car care clinic.
