CAR CARE CLINIC VALLEY VIEW - COMPLAINT
In January of this year i have taken my vehicle in to Car Care Clinic Valley View for a major service. I was contacted an hour later stating that i have over R8000s worth of damages that needs attention. Bare in mind that i drive an Hyundai Atos with a retail value of R24 000. Nonetheless, i have discussed this with then and said i only have a budget of R4500 and then i cant eat or use my car. They contacted me back with a quote of exactly R4500. I then told them to do only the major service and then took my vehicle to Supa Quick who confirmed the errors they have mentioned is not even close for concern. The following day i had to take my car back to Car Care Clinic as my car sounded like a tractor and had no power. Turns out the cover over the air filter was broken by Car Care Clinic. James, fixed this and all was well. Or so i thought...
Yesterday, a month after taking my car to them innitially, by battery died. Took my car to a batteru centre who stated that my car had NO battery water and as a result was so badly damaged i need to buy a new one.
I have contacted Car Care clinic again as they have marked and moved my battery during the service only to have them tell met they only mark the battery if the battery was checked and in working order.
My question is this... If the battery was checked, the battery water would have been checked, and i would not be in this position as a battery does not loose all its water and becomes irreparable only a month after it was checked.
My request is that Car Car Clinic, pays for at least 50% of the damages that has now occurred as this was clearly an oversight by them. According the Valley View branch they are not assisting.
Will head office assist or should i submit a defective workmanship liability claim?
