Car Care Clinic - Another Poor Service Provider........

I should question myself when you are offered low prices, it normally leads to incompetence as it has done on this occasion.

I took my 2017 Jeep Wrangler to Car Care Clinic in Green Point for a service, cost was half of what Jeep had quoted me and it was closer to home. It was a straightforward service, nothing complicated, what could possibly go wrong..... Later that day I fetched the car, paid the bill and left happy. Over the next few days I noticed a puddle of oil under the car on my driveway, which hadn't been there before so I took the car back and asked them to check it. The manager stated is was a leak between the gearbox and engine and nothing to do with the service, and the expected cost was approx R8000. So I decided to leave it for a while and just manage the leak. I then took it back a week or two later as the leak was getting worst, the manager had changed and the new guy told me it was the oil filter casing that was leaking but also nothing to do with the service....... I decided to take it elsewhere for another opinion, this guy was a bit of a Jeep specialist and confirmed that it was the oil pump casing, which probably had a crack due to it being heavily manhandled during the service. I went back to Car Care Clinic, unbelievably, they had another manger but I explained the situation to him and he was quite understanding to be fair and advised that they would investigate the issue and if it had been caused by them they would cover the cost of the repairs. To cut along story short, they stripped it, couldn't find any issue that would past the responsibility to them, and their head office have refused to pay anything whatsoever towards the repair and are washing their hands of it.

Amazing how this car didn't have any issues prior to the service being carried out but now it has become a R7,000 - R8,000 repair...... Moral of the story, don't allow yourself to get taken in by cheap pricing as it will bite you in the **** later!!
