YOUR MONEY IS NOT SAFE WITH CAPITEC BANK!!!!
Capitec is Cap YOUR MONEY IS NOT SAFE WITH CAPITEC BANK!!!!
Since the beginning of this year (2021) I have had suspicious (unknown) transactions in the form of internet purchases go off on my account from websites that I have never visited and I have no subscriptions for. These amounts all vary and occur every month on different days. It is never the same amount, it is never taken on the same day. This is not a ‘debit order’.
On the 6th of February I had notified a representative of Capitec bank via email of this ********** activity and had minimal response from them as a corporate entity in regards to assisting me to stop this from happening again. I then had to make an international call (because I am living in China) to the intention department, who could not help me at the time because it was a weekend (it seems that ***** can happen on weekends it’s not a priority for Capitec to assist you on Saturday and Sunday). The amounts that have gone off my account have been between R100 - R790, sometimes twice per month. I have been emailing them proof, with screenshots that have all the details they need to assist me but they are reluctant to make this a priority. This adds up! Every time I am on a call with a representative they don’t seem to know what to do about the situation, they claim they cannot reverse the transactions without permission, knowing that this has already gone on for 3 months and I had notified them in February already they have told me that they might only be able to reverse transactions that occurred within 30 days. They are huge cap because they just transfer you to other consultants and departments that also DONT DO ANYTHING to fix the situation. For 2 days they have not called me. I am holding Capitec Bank liable for all the money I have lost since the 6th of February because even after having knowledge and proof of this they have neglected to help me as a client. And it is extremely difficult for me not being in the country at this point to have this constant communication without solutions. I had at one point felt like just closing my bank account with Capitec and the would put my business and family in a difficult position since I use this account for all my transactions.
This could easily happen to you so please take some time to click the share button. Help me by sharing this post, I have no other choice but to post on social media. please note for hello peter it asks for my cellphone number which is not 10 digits but 11 digits so perhaps that can be updated to accommodate South Africans living abroad. Instead I have left my fathers number. He can give my number to any representative in need of it.
