WHY DOES A CAPITEC EFT TO ANOTHER BANK TAKES 24 HOURS? WHO GETS THE INTEREST?

Ever wonder why it takes 24 hours for funds to clear and be available in another bank's account when you pay it out of a Capitec bank account but it only takes a few hours when you pay out of another bank's account?

The funds are out of your Capitec account but only 24 hours later in the other bank's account.

Who receives that interest for the 24 hours?

If the interest goes to Capitec it is a win win for them - either they receive (sometimes their own client's funds in the event the client has another account with a different bank) interest or they compel their own clients to make the funds immediately available at a cost of co**** and therefor makes money again from their own clients.

It would be interesting how much money Capitec may earn out of this practise if it is the case.
