What else is this bank forcing people to do?

Good Day

Ironic that Capitec's latest advert campaign details how you should only agree upon what you

have signed for. Instead of walking out with an entire trolley of goods not agreed upon, you

should know what you have in your basket.

I am now stuck with exactly that dilemma. Having an account for which I did not sign up for,

nor have ANY record of owning or using, wherein monies have been reversed to and now I do not

have ANY access or method of retrieving without me having to sign up in order to get them back,

and ultimately putting a loan in arrears of which I now pay more interest on...

I am originally an FNB account holder. I took a loan out with Capitec.

On the 31st of January, I was double debited by Capitec.

I contacted Capitec to please correct this and reverse the one deduction.

And of course, they did...

I waited to see whether the monies will reflect in my FNB account, as I needed to pay my

car debit. And they never did...

JUST to find out that these monies were not reversed back into my FNB

account, but instead was reversed into a Capitec Savings Account, of which I have no proof

of signing, no document showing that I am the owner, nor do I own a card to give me access

to this account. I tried to explain this over and over to MANY "Agent : Direct Loan (Central Credit Collections)" and none of them could give me an explanation, except to go to a branch.

Now, of course, I have to take time off from work to do this.

At the branch, when my I.D. number is entered, NOT ONE SINGLE EVIDENCE that I have business with Capitec surfaces.

Not one single trace. And when I tell them that I took the Loan out over the phone with "Direct Lending"... (also an advert) ...the branch said I would have to take it up with Direct Lending. FINE... But, I was now informed that I can also dispute the second deduction via FNB.

Which I did... FNB without any hassle disputed the second deduction and my monies

were transferred back into my FNB account.

But now, I received an sms stating that my Loan is now in arrears.

I realized that FNB doesn't have any record of this so called Capitec Savings Account, so from which account should they then dispute the transaction? THE LOAN ACCOUNT OF COURSE...

Well now, having a more clearer image of what has happened.

I did not know that Capitec reversed the monies into a Capitec Savings Account, because I did not know it even existed. And every time I tried to explain this to someone at Capitec, they tell me it is opened automatically... And I KEEP TELLING THEM I DID NOT WANT IT.... Where can they

show that I signed for it, as for every single contract that I ever had with Capitec it only shows

the Loan Account number.

NOW I AM BEING COERCED INTO OPENING A CAPITEC ACCOUNT IN ORDER TO GET MY MONEY BACK AS I AM NOW TOLD MONEY CAN ONLY GO IN, AND IT CAN NOT COME OUT UNLESS YOU ACTIVATE THE ACCOUNT WITH PROOF OF RESIDENCE AND I.D. BOOK.

This was not my mistake. This was clearly Capitec for double debiting me.

I do not want an account, I only have a loan. Why wasn't this clearly stated in the first place?

Now my loan account is in arrears, I now pay more interest on it, so Capitec is benefiting

from their error and profiting.

So, according to my records, Capitec have reversed monies into a dummy account, as I am not

aware of it's existence. Who says that you are not gaining interest from that?

I am now being coerced into signing up in order to get that money back...

I phoned on the 27th of February 2017 and asked the number for that Savings Account as maybe I missed it somewhere in any document I signed. I do not have this account number...

All I am asking is to pay the money back into the Loan Account, fix the amount on which I am

paying every month, as this was not my mistake, for if I ever chose to double debit myself, I would do at my own regard. And close that so called Capitec Savings Account before it causes

any more damage.

Thank you.
