Were is my money gone to?????

I went to deposit money at the atm at Glengarry shopping centre Brackenfell on the 8th late in the afternoon/early evening like I have been doing since I opened this account many years ago. The cash deposit icon was available and I put the cash (unfortunately without counting them) in the slot, the atm started counting them as per normal and all of a sudden the screen said transaction cancelled. No money was returned to me like a stained note will be returned. All the money was still in the machine and on the left side next to the slot were I put the money there was a red light flashing. I then went to the car to get my phone to call the call centre. The lady repeatedly asked me how much money I did deposit and I repeatedly said this time I did not count it like I have always been doing. She then asked me the denominations of the money and again I had to say I did not count it. I was given a incident number ********** 6 and was given a SLA of 2 days. Today is the third day and when I made a call to follow up I was told that unless I can tell them how much money I tried to deposit they will not be able to assist me. Surely a bank can see how much money was received during the day, how much money was drawn during the day and how much money is left in the machine which need to be allocated to an account due to the atm giving a error. When I finished my call the icon for cash deposits was not available anymore. I stood there for a long time watching if people draw money that my money will not be spit out. Nothing. Surely there is safety checks in place at the bank. I guess the amount that I deposited was between R3000 and R4000. Remember there were a couple of R50 and R200 notes but the majority was R100 notes. If Capitec is not going to assist me in this matter I will go to the police and open a theft charge against them
