***** Via Capitec Bank

On Saturday, 2025-04-05 at around 15:00, I was hiking from Dundee to my place of employment and residence at Helpmekaar. I was picked up by a vehicle with three (03) African males in a white Sedan. After traveling for about 1-4 km away from Dundee, one of the three males asked the driver to stop so that he could take ice cubes from the boot of the vehicle. The vehicle came to a stop at Hlalanathi area, and the passenger in front came out. He opened the boot and when he came back, he ****ed his firearm and pointed it to my head. The driver and the other passenger seated next to me assisted each other in grabbing me, telling me not to do anything stupid. While they were grabbing me, they discovered that I had a firearm in my waist. I couldn’t retaliate because their firearm was already ****ed and pointed to my head. After taking my cellphone and firearm, they discovered that I am a police official. They demanded my cellphone password and Capitec banking app PIN. The driver was now seated alone in front because the passenger, who was seated in front, came to the back, and I was now in the middle. They took my wallet and bank cards. After having access to my Capitec bank app, they requested/app**** for a loan of R48,000.00. This was done by forcing me to scan my face in the app. The loan was approved, and they started to drive around with me. I could not see where we were going because I was forced to put my head down and being pointed with their firearm, including mine. They drove around different towns, withdrawing the loan they made in my app, including the money which was in the savings. They withdrew the money in terms of cash send, which they were sending to different people that I do not know. They drove around with me until it was dark, because they picked me up around 15:15. They also contacted my sister and my girlfriend using my cellphone, pretending to be me, asking to send R5000.00 to them so that they return it as cash sent. It was at night when they did a drive-through at McDonald's in Ladysmith, where they bought themselves food. They continued to kidnap me, withdrawing the money using my card and doing cash send. They did so until my card declined because of the limit, but they waited until it was the next day, 2025-04-06, so that they could continue taking my money. A complaint was logged with Capitec bank and a case was opened at SAPS The ***** and Complaints department said they can’t help me with anything since I was asking for the loan to be written off after their investigating officer wrote a report supporting me and stating that I should be refuded. This loan deducts from my salary every month and it’s going to be the third time end of June. It deducts an amount of R4800 and I can’t afford it. Capitec keeps on declining writing it off or refunding me. A loan is something that should be approved when a person is in the bank physically but with Capitec everything is easy via the app. I warn all Capitec users to be on alert since capitec promotes that we should all have apps.

My cell number is *** Capitec ***** reference ***1
