Very Poor Non-Feedback
I am utterly disgusted by my most recent customer experience with Capitec Bank and am definitely going to take my banking else where. On the 30th of October 2017 at 10h24 I made a cash withdrawal from an ATM machine inside a food store in my residing area. When the machine dispensed the money, I counted the cash notes; (which I feel is a good habit I adopted a few years ago especially in this case). After counting the money I discovered that there was R 200 (two hundred rand) less than my requested withdrawal amount; so I counted the money again and still there is R 200 (two hundred rand) less. My husband is with me, so I have him count the money too and he confirms the cash amount counted and asks me how much I aught to have and I tell him. So the two (2) of us inspected the cash dispensing slot where the money is discharged from and there is no other cash note/s stuck in the slot. We then searched the entire surrounding area of the ATM machine, with the hope that maybe the money fell when being discharged from the machine but no so luck. By now the rest of the queuing people are becoming agitated at my prolonged stay at the ATM machine, but at this point really couldn't care much because the ATM machine gave me R 200 (two hundred rand) less than I needed and I was not going to move away from the machine until this was resolved and that is when I asked my husband to please go and get the store manager, which he did. We explained what happened to the manger and he said there is nothing he can do about the situation and gets further assistance from another manager which also confirms their "hands being tied" and that I will have to call my bank or visit my closest bank branch to forward my coplaint to; which I did the very next day October the 31st at Capitec Bank Century City, Cape Town. The service wasn't too bad and I was advised that it'll take 7 (seven) working days to receive feedback from what has now become an investigation. Yesterday Thursday the 9th of November 2017 which was the 7th day, I returned to the Century City branch and was informed that no feedback has yet been sent, as no feedback has yet been received from the company SPARK ATMs which is the company that supplies Capitec Bank and other companies with vending ATM machines in supermarkets, food stores etc. And it is not yet the end of the seventh day, I must wait until Monday. This is where I find it to be very unacceptable and I tell the Capitec Bank consultant whom is personally consulting me that I will not and cannot wait until Monday! And I question why it is taking so long to just get feedback???! With this the consultant calls a second time to their (Capitec Bank's) 'help desk', speaks to a Simphiwe and is then advised that feedback will be sent to the branch today still (Thursday 9th November '17) and that I will be notified once the feedback has been received at the bank branch. At 16:44 yesterday the 9th of November 2017, I receive a phone call from Capitec Bank's Century City branch, from the same consultant informing me that SPARK ATMs has let Capitec Bank know that the full amount of money was dispensed to me from the ATM on the 30th of October. Are you Kidding me???!!!!!! That is INSANE!!! Why would I go through all of this to claim a R 200 (two hundred rand) ?????? The SPARKS ATM DID NOT DISPENSE THE FULL REQUESTED WITHDRAWAL AMOUNT TO ME!!!! I RECEIVED R 200 (two hundred rand) LESS THAN MY WITHDRAWAL REQUEST!!! Like many of us, I work hard for my money and I WANT MY MONEY!!!!
