Urgent: Immediate Payment Not Reflected – Request for Resolution and Accountability

ear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding an immediate payment I made on 24 February 2026 from my Capitec account to my Standard Bank account.

I transferred the funds because most of my expenses are paid from my Standard Bank account, as it is more convenient and cost-effective for me to transact from that account. This is a routine process for me — I normally transfer funds immediately and then proceed to make the necessary payments.

However, to date, the funds have not reflected in my Standard Bank account. This delay is now causing serious financial inconvenience, as some of my payments have not gone through on time and interest is beginning to accumulate.

I contacted Capitec’s support centre yesterday and was informed that there was a system issue which would be resolved “after hours.” When I called again this morning, I was given the same response. When I requested to escalate the matter to a manager, my call was placed on hold without resolution.

This situation is extremely frustrating. I worked for this money — it is my salary, not a loan or credit facility — and it is unacceptable that I am being denied access to my own funds without clear communication or accountability. Financial institutions are meant to make banking easier, not create unnecessary hardship for their clients.

In the interim, my rent is due and other expenses are pending. The continued delay may result in additional interest charges and could negatively affect my credit profile. I therefore request:

Immediate confirmation of the status of my transfer.

Urgent resolution of this matter.

Written feedback explaining the cause of the delay.

Clarification on how Capitec intends to address any financial loss incurred as a result of this delay.

I expect prompt attention to this matter, as the impact on my finances is significant.

Kind regards, Prozesky Mahlaba
