Unsatisfactory Resolution of Erroneous Fund Transfer

I am express my frustration regarding the handling of my case concerning a mistakenly transferred amount of money. My name is Ntokozo Gcwensa , and on December 13, 2024, I accidentally transferred funds to the wrong individual. Immediately, I reported the issue by opening a case and contacted customer service. I was assured that the bank would reach out to the recipient of the funds to resolve the matter.

However, on December 18, when I visited the branch for an update, I was informed that my case had been closed. To my shock, the bank stated that the recipient claimed they were expecting the funds and that the matter was now classified as a civil case. This response is both disheartening and unacceptable.

As a customer, I expect my bank to assist me in recovering funds that were mistakenly transferred through their system. The transaction occurred within the bank's network, and it is perplexing that there seems to be no ability or willingness to help retrieve my money. This is a significant amount that I was supposed to pay to someone else, and the lack of support from the bank has left me in a difficult financial situation.

I urge the bank to reconsider its position and take responsibility for facilitating a solution in situations like this. It is critical for banks to offer adequate support to their customers, especially when an error occurs within their internal systems. I hope to see improvements in how such cases are handled in the future. Thank you.
