Unresolved Electricity Purchase – Over Two Weeks and Counting
Unresolved Electricity Purchase – Funds Taken, No Resolution for Over 2 Weeks**
I am extremely frustrated with the lack of accountability and urgency from Capitec Bank regarding an unresolved electricity purchase made on 24 March 2026.
After purchasing electricity, my City Power meter rejected the voucher as a duplicate. Since then, I have made numerous calls to Capitec, and the issue has supposedly been escalated multiple times. I was repeatedly told that resolution would take 24–48 hours.
Today is 8 April 2026, and the issue remains unresolved.
No refund. No usable voucher. No clear explanation. Just delays and empty assurances.
This is unacceptable. I paid for a service that I have not received, and my funds appear to have simply disappeared without resolution. Being told to “wait” repeatedly for over two weeks reflects a serious failure in customer service and internal processes.
Capitec needs to take responsibility for this matter immediately:
* Either provide a valid electricity voucher * Or refund the full amount without further delay
Customers should not have to chase their own money or be left without essential services like electricity while the bank fails to act.
This situation raises serious concerns about accountability and service delivery. I expect urgent resolution.
