Unhelpful Response from Capitec Bank WhatsApp Agent Regarding *****ulent Transaction

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the assistance I received from Capitec Bank's WhatsApp agent, Zikhona Mb, regarding a potentially *****ulent transaction that has left me quite concerned.

About four hours ago, my wife made an online purchase at what appeared to be the Cape Union Mart store (www.capeunionmartsale.shop), using my Capitec Bank credit card during a "24-hour special." However, when I checked the link again, it redirected to a different company: HANDSOME MAN IN QIN DYNASTY TRADE LTD. Upon reviewing my transaction history, it became clear that the payment went to a clothing company based in Hong Kong.

When my wife attempted to log into her profile, she received a message stating that the "data doesn't exist." This raised significant red flags for me, prompting me to reach out to Capitec Bank via the WhatsApp channel for assistance.

Unfortunately, Zikhona Mb's response was both unhelpful and dismissive. She informed me that Capitec Bank could only reverse *****ulent transactions if I had not received the product or service within 30 days, suggesting that my situation did not qualify as ***** since I had willingly entered my card details. I explained the confusion and the fact that I believed I was purchasing from Cape Union Mart, not a different entity.

In my view, Zikhona Mb’s response demonstrates a lack of understanding of the seriousness of cybersecurity and online ****s. I do not believe I should have to wait 30 days for an investigation while my funds are at risk. I need urgent assistance to recover my money, as it is clear that I have been ****med.

I urge Capitec Bank to take this matter seriously and provide immediate support to customers facing similar situations.

Thank you for your attention to this urgent issue.
