Unfair Card Replacement Fee.

I have my capitec card which expires in 2030. Serveral times I used it to transact it gives me problems. I went in to the branches, I'm told I have to pay card replacement for anout R70.00. My question is why do I have to pay that money if my card is ni lost, damaged or anything that I may have caused? This is not the first time this happens to me. The problem with both cards is the chip, nothing caused by negligence.

Please help me understand why must I pay that amount, how do I carry a card that is useless and/or do they expect me to carry cash for my transactions at this time of the year?
