UNFAIR BLACKLISTING BY CAPITEC BANK

This bank has ****** my son of his future. He is now depressed, sitting home, and I have to watch him daily as he is destroying himself, as he has lost all hope. Can someone please assist me? My son, 22, was manipulated by his stepmother to apply for a loan at Capitec Bank. This woman had already falsified documents using my son's ID, she had a salary advice and 3 months bank statement for him. My son was not working.

I am well aware that he was not gunpointed when this happened, he was also aware of this crime, but for whatever reason, he participated under the guidance of this cruel woman. The bank approved the loan, even though the documents were false; they couldn't spot discrepancies. This woman was there at the bank with my son when the application was done, the money was paid into my son's account, and transferred to hers.

However, I think the bank later realised that no money was paid into the account that my son supposedly had, and so without any investigation, they decided to block my son in all banks in South Africa. He can't work without a bank account, he can't even participate in internship programmes. I feel he is punished unfairly because I believe that if the bank had done a thorough investigation, they would have found the glaring evidence and maybe gotten to the masterminds who are de*****ing banks. I am in no way justifying my son's part in this, however, he deserves a fair punishment. He cannot be punished for the rest of his life. A 24-year-old who can not work or earn an honest living is inevitably being pushed to drugs and ******* because he needs money, and if he can't earn it legally, I dread to think of the opposite. All I expected was for the bank to conduct its investigation or take the matter to SAPS so that he could also have a chance to say what happened. It is so disturbing for me, as a parent, that whilst my son is suffering, the people who orchestrated this ********** crime are out and about planning to target another naive young person and destroying their lives in the process.

I implore anyone who can assist us to please intervene. I have been to the bank and have been sent from pillar to post. Even the law firm where the account was handed over couldn't help me. I feel so helpless, but I can't just sit on my laurels and watch as my son's life is slowly taking a turn for the worse.

I am sooooooo disappointed with Capitec. What happened to innocent till proven guilty? Which court found my son guilty? Why is he buried while alive? There is enough evidence to connect the stepmom to the crime, She is the one who brought the documents; she was there at the bank. Surely, footage can be accessible, the money was transferred to her account almost immediately after it was paid into my son's account.

Capitec must free my son and let him live his life.
