********* BANK - Capitec *****s Senior citizen's grant monies.

Capitec has to be the most ******* and ********* bank in South Africa. They prey on low income earners and poorly educated people from the rural areas because they think they don't know their rights. Capitec bank stole my grant monies. On the 15th October I went to Capitec ATM and withdrew an amount R1800 but on counting money whilst at the ATM I realized that the ATM has only given me R1200. I am a Sickly person and was unable to go to report at the bank immediately and managed to go on the 21st October 2021 where I met a consultant who promised to log a request for an investigation to take place. On the 25th November I went back to Elim mall Capitec bank to follow up on the request that was supposedly logged on the 21st October but was told that there was no records of any requests being made under my name on that day, the consultant who was assisting me also promised to log a request and start the process afresh. I went back in December and cannot recall the date was told same thing no request logged we have to start the process afresh. I received an sms this January stating that my request has been declined, I therefore went to the same branch to get clarity as the sms wasn't detailed. I met a consultant there who advised that the investigation was done and my case has been declined. According to the consultant upon investigation, ATM records were checked and they found no funds in reserve, as that would be an indication that the ATM indeed did short pay me. What frustrates and puzzles me is that the bank waited a whole 2 months before a proper investigation could be done, how do they expect an ATM to have a reserve of R600 after 2 months of the incident? The consultant has the audacity to advise me that I can go as far as reporting this matter to the incident and the answer will still be the same, so it is best I accept that they have gained from that R600 and therefore I should just pretend as this never happened. This has me question the integrity of the people working in that bank, it seems like they are also benefiting from these ********** activities happening in their bank hence they see no sense of urgency in reporting matters punctually as they come. To my knowledge the ATM was in use from that day and is still in use. Their *********** staff failed to log a request when the incident had just occurred and due to their incompetency they have failed to do a proper investigation as it is already too late as the ATM has been in use since. I feel that they did this on purpose as they already knew what the outcome would be should they delay this matter. I am an elder citizen who depends solely on the grant monies. It pains me to know that Capitec bank doesn't treat their clients fairly, they assume that as we are from the rural areas we are not acquainted to other avenues that we can relate our dissatisfaction hence they can proudly brush our matters off and discourage someone from taking a matter further. I would Capitec to relook into this matter as I feel de*****ed and treated unfairly by the bank.
