Unauthorized Transaction

Before I continue, please can this be referred to a manager immediately.

Saturday 28 October, I went about my usual shopping and while paying for my groceries, to my embarrassment 'transaction declined'.

That didn't make sense to me because I was sure I left enough funds in my account so I tried again and got the same error. I then had to walk out of the shop shamefully leaving all those groceries at the till point.

I checked my statement online only to find you people decided to do a double deduction on my account. I went into your branch and was told you're aware of the technical error but can't give me a turn around time. ***? Firstly, how do you not make us aware immediately when you realize there is an issue? I got a sms at 6pm on Saturday, AFTER THE FACT! Much help that was. And then to tell me you can't give me a turn around time? Does it not matter that I have kids and a family to feed? You have no right to do this! It's bladdy *******!

I want my money paid into my account today and I want to be compensated for the fact that I went an entire weekend without any money because of you! I expect a call from a manager today confirming all this will be done or I'm taking you people to the papers and reporting you to the ombudsman. This is disgusting.

I work in customer service and I'm a manager myself, I NEVER BEHAVE LIKE THE IRATE CUSTOMER because I'm always considerate but this is my money, my children's livelyhood you're messing with and you don't seem to care.

Call me now!

Reviewer Update
So I went into a capitec branch again, spoke to a consultant Umr at capitec salt river. The minute I mentioned I am coming to enquire about the double debits, Umr already started giving me scripted answers and avoided eye contact. He didn't even give me an opportunity to finish speaking before he interrupted me and first claimed there was no double debit on my account, I then told him I checked my online statement which confirmed it and I was at a branch on Saturday and even they confirmed it, Umr then changed his story and said it will take 7 working days for the money to be refunded. I told him I couldn't wait that long and there must be something that could be done, he'll call the call centre for me (which I don't understand why it was necessary since I'm in a branch already) but they are going to tell me the same thing. I spoke to a consultant who told me they have no turn around time, I explained that I was just told 7 days, she said that was a lie because the issue is still not resolved and therefore they cannot give me a timeframe. I asked for her manager whose name is Willington Hlaka, employee code 315363 reference number ********** 2, who then told me there is no turn around time but technically this is not their fault and that it only happened with customer's who do not bank with Capitec (I DO NOT CARE!!!) Of course it's your fault I said, you took money out of my account which you were not supposed to take. I even went on to explain the fact that I am a single mother and I didn't get around to do any of my shopping yet because of their mistake. Willington would hear none of it, apparently there was nothing they could do, even as a manager. I asked if I would be compensated for this time I am without money and time that I am still going to be without money until they resolve their systems, he said NO because it's not their fault and I just have to wait until the issue is resolved. He even told me I am being unreasonable for asking for compensation and I am unwilling to accept his assistance (WHAT ASSISTANCE???) I then asked Umr to escalate to his manager, whose name is Benjamin Fortune at the Capitec Branch in Salt River (he outright refused to give me his employee code or reference number) he said they do not have a button they can push that says *reverse charge* (I'm not a damn idiot and didn't quite like that he tried to speak to me as such) I told him I am not asking him to make magic, I am simply asking that MY money be returned. Money which I worked for, money which they were not authorized to take, money they TOOK by MISTAKE. Benjamin insists there is nothing they can do, when asked about compensation Beni-boy also had the audacity to tell me they won't give me money for this period I am without money because it's not their fault, it's a technical fault (SO ARE YOU SAYING IT'S MY DAMN FAULT). And when I mentioned the incident with the shopping on Saturday and the fact that my transactions were declined, the little sarcastic **** turns around and tells me "well with all due respect ma'am, it is your responsibility to check your balance before you go shop" (ARE YOU ****ING KIDDING ME???) I did check my balance and it was fine, I didn't even get a sms to say you took more money, I got a damn sms at 6pm from you telling me you are having technical errors. ****ing pathetic service. Then Beni-boy says that it might take 48 hours for the debit to be reversed but that depends if they were able to resolve the technical issue or not. SO THAT's 3 DIFFERENT STORIES now. PATHETIC damn service. Then I ask him again, are you going to give me back my money you took ********ly and compensate me for the time I am without money because of this. NO, because apprarently they can't confirm how long it will take to resolve this and they can't compensate even if it is for failed debit orders or rejection fees because that's not how it works. *** is wrong with you people. Service is pathetic you all are and it's ****ing me off. I shouldn't to go bank everyday. I want a call back and I want my money
