Unacceptable and shocking treatment at the hands of Capitec Bank

We rent out a holiday home. Some guests we had in the home were obviously ****** and sold somebody an airconditioner and asked that person to deposit funds into our account, with no permission or pre-warning to ourselves. After said guests had done this they told us that their brother was depositing funds into our account and requested us to draw out the cash for them - this was a Saturday. We refused and told them in writing that we took great exception to this and they would have to accompany us to our branch on Monday to draw out the funds and then they must vacate our home. By Monday the guests had disappeared. We ensured that we arrived at our branch, Mbazwane before 8am on Monday morning to report this and find out how we could get the funds removed from our account. We were told to get an affadavit from the police which we did, we also managed to locate the gentleman who had deposited the funds (this is how we realised that he had done it as he thought he was purchasing an airconditioner.) We discovered on Monday that Capitec had blocked our account (our only bank account.) After jumping through hoops, huge cell phone bills, endless visits to the bank and police the gentleman who had erroneously deposited the money got his money back and we were told Capitec would unblock our account. After endless running around we were eventually told this morning that Capitec would not unblock our account and that we had to open an account with another bank and request that OUR FUNDS be transferred into the new account. This, at the end of the month when we had rent, bills, wages to pay etc etc and when we live in a town in which Capitec is the only bank and we have banked with them for 6 years. Absolutely disgusting - Capitec has not worked in our interests whatsoever, have caused us immeasurable distress having to borrow from family and friends as we could not access our funds through NO FAULT OF OUR OWN - be warned people
