Uber authorisation holds not released.

I need assistance with 2 uber transactions that were automatically authorised and deducted from my account on the 25th of April and are currently still pending and haven’t been reversed. I called Capitec twice to clear these transactions so I can get my money back and they told me that I need an authorisation letter from Uber. I reached out to Uber twice and they said they can’t provide me with the letter because they have voided these transactions on their side and that I should tell my bank to release the funds back into my account. I called the Capitec call centre to say I can provide screenshots of my communication with Uber and they said no I need an authorisation letter but Uber can’t provide me with this letter. I have never experienced this issue before as uber authorisation holds reverse almost immediately and never had a problem with Uber authorisation holds on my account previously until now and I’m obviously dissatisfied. I am yet to receive assistance from Capitec bank with voiding these transactions on my account and getting my money back.

Hi Capitec,

The Complaints Management Officer contacted me via email on the 9th of May and again yesterday via the Capitec WhatsApp chat. However, the investigation into my issue is taking longer than expected, and I haven’t received clear feedback regarding the cause of the delay or what caused the issue itself.

I provided my account statement to the CMO to show that the transactions are still pending on my account, as it initially seemed they were unaware of them. While the CMO did note that the investigation might take longer than usual, no specific timeframes towards resolving this issue were provided. This raises some concern, as it makes me question whether this is the first time the bank is encountering an issue of this nature.
As a long-standing customer of Capitec Bank, I would greatly appreciate a more urgent and transparent approach to resolving this matter, along with consistent updates on the progress of my complaint. Lastly, given how long it is taking to resolve this, please confirm whether there is an escalation process in place for cases like this, should I need to engage an external regulatory body.
