Transactions held back by rude staff

Mercantile bank picked up suspected ***** on my pos system. They have been holding all my transactions since the suspected ***** has taken place which has been more than two weeks ago and refuse to pay for my transactions. Mercantile as a bank should be protecting me instead of hiding as the sales person and sales manager as they did not do there jobs. I’m currently owed more than R205 000 which they refuse to pay as my account is suspected *****. When I went to the head office today they could not provide me a date as to when this will be resolved. They state it could take 180 days which is unacceptable. They even referred me to their terms and conditions but it does not state 180 days for investigation but for other things. Also note that Mercantile can only hold your transactions if ***** was definitely confirmed which they have not found as per their clauses. We even dealt with an extremely rude lady by the name of Tazneem Naidoo who initially via telephone misrepresented herself as the ***** manager instead of a Sales Manager. Today she was very rude to my wife considering we are a client of there’s which is totally unacceptable. If I had to be rude like that to any person representing a company than surely my job would have been on the line due to bad customer service. Other staff in her office heared the way she spoke to us as customers which is rediculous to say the least. This needs to be sorted ASAP otherwise Mercantile is going to have a law suite to deal with.

Mercantile was advised by issuers of credit cards (“Issuers”) of ********** credit card transactions that were processed at the business of the complainant. The Issuers have the right to recover from Mercantile the amounts **********ly debited to their respective client’s accounts, consequently Mercantile is contractually entitled to delay settlement of any transaction under ***** investigation until the investigation has been completed or the chargeback period as per the relevant Card Association rules expires. The business of the complainant already received benefit in respect of ********** transactions, the aggregate amount of which far exceeds the amount held back by Mercantile. Therefore Mercantile is at risk in respect of these amounts already credited to the account of the business of the complainant. There are more transactions under investigation the aggregate amount of which is substantial. Insofar the allegations of rude staff members are concerned this is vehemently denied. On the contrary foul and rude language was used towards staff when they attempted to explain Mercantile’s position. Mercantile will correspond directly with the complainant.
