The National Credit Act prohibits the listing of prescribed debt

MBD has been harassing me to pay a Capitec debt that has been dormant for years. They bought it knowing very well what the law says. "The National Credit Amendment Act, published 13 March 2015, prohibits the sale and collection of Prescribed Debt. Unless the debt collector or credit provider can prove that your debt is not prescribed, tell them to stop harassing you. It is advised that you also put this in writing, so that there is a record of it.If they persist, request the original loan agreement/contract, proof of default, the outstanding amount and interest accrued. The National Credit Act prohibits the listing of prescribed debt" MBD Reference number ********** ********** 34. Capitec must remove my name from the credit bureau.

Viwe Bokveldt acknowledged via email that the debt was sold to MBD. However, the credit bureau listing was made by Capitec Bank. Just remove it as you received your money from MBD who unfortunately will not get a cent from me.
