The handling of these accounts, has been disruptive and distressing.

I recently encountered an issue with Capitec Bank that potential customers should consider before deciding to open an account.

As a verified merchant who sells digital assets online, I've faced significant challenges with Capitec. I sold USDT to several customers who paid into my Capitec account. Some of these funds have been placed on hold for an extended period. Despite providing all requested documentation—including proof of payment, proof of goods/services provided, and affidavits confirming the legitimacy of these transactions—the bank’s response has been less than satisfactory.

I was instructed by the bank to obtain additional affidavits from the customers themselves, confirming their purchases. This requirement came because some customers were under investigation for unrelated *****ulent activities. I believe it would be more efficient for Capitec's internal team to directly verify these details with their clients rather than outsourcing this responsibility to me.

After complying with all of Capitec’s requests and coordinating with the platform where I sold the digital assets, only one customer responded, citing severe health issues as a delay. The others have not returned my communications.

This situation has significantly disrupted my business operations, as I cannot access the funds on hold. The bank's handling of this matter has been frustrating and inefficient, leading me to question their process and customer support. Potential clients might want to consider these factors, as they could face similar challenges in managing their financial transactions with Capitec.
