Terrible Capitec Service, you are a lender than a bank

Good Day,

Today I was doing money transfer using cellphone banking and unfortunately, I entered incorrect cellphone numbers. The aim was to deposit R500 for my brother. I immediately went to the branch in Mitchell's Plane (Town Centre) in Western Cape to get help. I was served by a consultance by the name of Theodorae Mdwaba who attempeted to call the incorrect recepient with no luck. FORTUNATELY the money was there as it was freezed . She then told me that Capitec needs a consent from the incorrect recipient that was entered by me in my phone by mistake. She (your consultant) further told me that the money could ONLY be freeze for 24 hrs, after that there is nothing you can do. Firstly, I am the one who incorreclty deposited those funds and the consent should not depend on INCORRECT recipient. SECONDLY, we all make mistakes and Capitec should have assisted me with the proof of my ID, residential address etc. Your cellphone facility and your service is failling me unlike other reputable banks in which you still have to provide a receipient with the pin code in order to access the money. Anyone makes a mistake, but as a bank you should be able to assist when such a mistake is made, Unfortunately, you are more a lender that a bank and dont care about other services you ought to offer. I need my cash and this freezing period you are talking about is not enough to solve such problems. This live better and live better means nothing. Other bank are far much better than what you offer.

P Dwani
