Systems errors At Capitec results in failed CC transactions

I am writing this review after having submitted an email to clientcare@ On 20 July. I never received any acknowledgement of my email and I have never received a reply. Great customer service right there. The issue I was writing about was numerous failed credit card transactions on 19 July between 10am and 12pm. I was left stranded at a restaurant and my wife was left standing at a supermarket checkout with a few items. I tried calling the contact centre, my calls were dropped 3 times. I eventually was able to speak someone who was disinterested and utterly unhelpful (***). I also sent a query about the failed transactions via twitter, no response sent but a reply eventually received on Monday 20/7. I find all the above events to be unacceptable. Customer service is a right, not a privilege. As mentioned in my email, I want a response to the following questions answered: 1. What time did Capitec receive the first alert that there was a problem impacting credit card transactions? 2. Having been alerted to the issue, why was a customer communication not sent immediately 3. Since I pay my entire salary into my credit card facility, how do I know this problem will not impact access to my money in the future? 4. How can I be assured that a repeat of this situation will not impact debit and credit transactions in the future? 5. What is the standard customer communication protocol when Capticec realizes there will be customer impact due to the failure of its internal systems?
